Cast News - Hanayama Metal Puzzle

When I saw this puzzle online, I had to buy it, so I did. When it arrived a week later, I took one glance at it and was jumping out of my skin, wanting to solve it. The picture, in my opinion, doesn't do this little puzzle any justice. The real deal is intricately carved and it has a nice copper shine in the light. I opened this puzzle up a week ago and I still can't figure it out. At least none of my friends can, either. c: I'm no expert on puzzles, but this one is a doozy. And it's so beautiful!

My wife thinks I'm the biggest dork for wasting my time on these types of puzzles, but this one even intrigued her. No parts to move, no seen channels or notches, and no real visible solution. Just a hexagon shaped box that will separate in two. It was fun sharing our theories of how to solve it.

I got this puzzle for my dad, who is a real puzzle fiend. I picked this out because of its difficulty rating and because of how pretty it looked. Well, it certainly is cool-looking, but Dad solved it in 10 minutes! (I wasn't able to solve it on my own, but I'm not a puzzlemaster.) Word of caution- you will not be able to separate the puzzle in and of itself. Meaning, you can't just take it apart right out of the box, even if you know the trick.

I chose this particular puzzle for its difficulty level. The three people that I gave it to as a gift did not have enough trouble solving the puzzle. I would like some higher level difficulty products for the smarty pants of the world.

Figured it out within the first five minutes i got it,but it was accidental. after i had it apart and i figured out how it works i can now take it apart in five seconds.
